Bridal Shower Fiesta

Those who have followed me for a while have come to see that I love party planning! This past weekend my older sister and I had the pleasure of hosting our younger sister’s bridal shower.

We infused a floral theme with our Mexican heritage. And we loved the finished product!

I love how our culture is filled with so much color and life; we made sure we incorporated these into the bridal shower.

A party doesn’t always have to cost an arm and a leg. My sister and I were able to get a lot of the center pieces and decor at Dollar Tree and on clearance at Michael’s.  You just have to be willing and take time to search for deals!

I also used many household items I already had for additional decorations and food placement. Many of these were items that my sister-in-law had sent me from Mexico. We decorated the space as well with papel picado from our local Mexican store.

For the shower I decided to make paper flowers in a variety of colors. This was my first attempt ever at making these and I was very proud of the outcome! (see pictures below)

Note: Making paper flowers is not hard but very tedious, especially if you are cutting everything by hand. Shout out to the hubby who stayed up late helping me cut out the petals and leaves!

For food, we went simple. We had mini tortas de jamón y queso, arroz mexicano, fruta picada, pico de gallo, guacamole, and other dips and chips. And of course we couldn’t forget the conchas.

We loved getting to host my sister’s bridal shower and we couldn’t be happier for her and her future husband!

Enjoy the pictures below and  I hope you find inspiration for your next Fiesta Mexicana!
