Hey everyone! Hoy quiero compartir with you all an awesome gift idea that I found on Pinterest and decided to give it a try.

Quería regalarle unas fotos a mi mamá for mother’s day but instead of placing them in a frame I wanted to do something different. I transferred them to wood and I added my own little twist as well.

Here is my step by step tutorial so you can give it a try.

So this is what you’ll need:

Any type of unfinished wood panel – I used 2 5×7 panels
Mod podge
Scissors
Paint brush or paint sponge
A damp cloth
A photocopied image on regular copy paper
Paint paddle or ruler

Step 1: Make sure that the side of the panel you are going to use is sanded down completely before starting. Cover the panel with mod podge. As a recent post I read said “apply generously.”

Step 2: Next cut out your pictures and place them face down on top of the panel and press down firmly. Please remember to print on regular copy paper. This is very important. Make sure there are no air bubbles. I used a paint paddle to smooth it out. Let it dry, preferably overnight for at least 8 hours.

Note: The picture will be flipped once transfered onto the panel so make sure to flip your pictures before printing. I did not mind the flip so I printed the image as is.

Step 3: Once it has completely dried, place a damp cloth over the pictures and let it soak in for a bit. The posts I read did not specify the timeframe to leave the cloth on, so I chose to leave it on for about 5 minutes. Then begin rubbing GENTLY to remove the paper. Definitely requires a lot of patience.

Note: If you start rubbing too fast and pressing down too firmly you might risk rubbing the image off.
